Gas Giants arts and culture podcast

Every cultural object has its history and context. So do we. Every cultural product and person has a position in the memetic tree of life and a network of prior and posterior relations to other people and products. Some people have had more influence than others and some things have endured better than others.

In each episode of the Gas Giants podcast, Gav and Tom consider a cultural artifact, how it relates to themselves personally and how it relates to everything else in the world. Music, film, literature, TV, art and the rest are all fair game, as are their makers; also, we believe that there is no such thing as an unpolitical act, so we reserve the right to discuss such cultural products as we think fit from a political perspective, as well as an aesthetic one. How truthful, valuable, and/or useful are they? What were their effects? How do they change our understanding of the bigger questions? Can we learn anything from them that helps us make life better?

So we look outside ourselves but also inside, hoping to talk to any Nasqueron Dwellers in there, maybe gleaning something from their arcane knowledge. There has to be something there.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - We will never ask you what your sleep number is. We will never tell you how to hire people, or how to deal with sticking stamps on your mail. More importantly, since Joey Diaz set the bar impossibly high, we will never try to sell you Viagra-based chewing gum. We have no patrons and no Patreon. We are not on the search for corporate sponsoring or getting picked up by a streaming platform. We do this for FREE for our own mental health and for love; love of culture, debate and discussion, all we ask in return is that you take this podcast, share it if you will , but use it kindly, in the spirit in which it was made, Gentle Listener.

New episodes are published every other week on Fridays. If you subscribe, you’ll get email notifications.
